Mr. Meeks received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, N.C. Prior to college, he served honorably in the United States Navy; graduating in the top ten percent of his class. Subsequently, Mr. Meeks attended North Carolina Central University School of Law, where he actively participated in the Project on Actual Innocence. While in Law School, Mr. Meeks worked for several agencies including Legal Aid of N.C. where he received the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Award for his commitment to serving his community. Mr. Meeks has previously worked as an Assistant District Attorney for The State of North Carolina's 27A Prosecutorial District. As a prosecutor, Mr. Meeks handled numerous cases including serious felony matters. As a private practitioner, Mr. Meeks has focused his practice primarily on Family Law including but not limited to situations involving divorce, child custody, child support, post separation support, and equitable distribution.
